Audi presents the new A5 and S5 Cabriolet, which will be present in the Hall of Los Angeles between 18 and 27 November in the United States. With the arrival of the convertible, complete marks the second generation of the family consisting of the A5 and S5 coupes, plus the five-door coupe A5 Sportback.
The new A5 and S5 Cabriolet bring the same design of the coupe version, with marked creases and curved hood. With fabric roof as in the first generation model, the roof can be collected automatically in 15 seconds or be closed in 18 seconds at speeds up to 50 km / h.
Built on the MLB platform, Audi promoted adjustments in the convertible body, increasing its torsional rigidity by 40% and reduce its weight in 40 kg compared to the previous generation. The trunk received an extra 60 liters of space to store luggage, resulting in 380 liters of capacity.
In the equipment list, the car brings a microphone built into seat belts – which allows occupants talk to each other without having to change the tone when the car is with the roof open.
There is also the known Virtual Cockpit instrument panel with a 12.3 inch screen media center with browser, head-up display system, dial driving modes, parking assistant, the “forward” system accidents, adaptive cruise control , reading cards, collision warning, opening the trunk with the movement of the feet, headlights with LED matrix and sound system from Bang & Olufsen.
The A5 Cabriolet is available to the petrol 2.0 TFSI 190 or 252 hp and a V6 3.0 liters turbo 354 horsepower, exclusive S5. According to Audi, the spicy S5 accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km / h (electronically limited).
In the range, there is also the diesels 2.0 TDI 190 hp and a 3.0 TDI of 218 or 286 hp. The transmission can be manual six-speed, automated dual-clutch seven-automatic eight, while the quattro all-wheel drive comes standard on the S5 and the diesel model of 286 hp.
