Renault has already confirmed the Koleos crossover for the Brazilian market, but the debut is still a little distant: the launch forecast is scheduled for October 2017. Of course, import plans can always be delayed, especially in the uncertainty situation of National economy. The date is still within the previous estimate, which forecast sales early in the second half. The last catch made in February did not indicate the proximity of sales. As we published at the time, these were only cars used by Renault itself.
The reader Nadia Guimarães photographed the crossover again, this time in Curitiba, Paraná, not far from the Renault factory itself, located in São José dos Pinhais. The car clicked by the reader is a model of the manufacturer’s fleet, something that is clear when you see the normal plates. There are seven cars that Renault uses to transport executives and other notables.
The previous generation of Koleos was not officially sold in Brazil, although it served the same transportation role of the board. The practice is common in other manufacturers, Peugeot even brought the new 308 GT for that same purpose, while the Chevrolet Malibu returned to Brazil only for the internal use of General Motors.
Even if the level of equipment can change, the Koleos will have a 2.5-liter aspirated engine, a CVT gearbox and a 4-wheel drive option, just like the Intense version tested by AutoSport. The 4×2 was also approved. The price is estimated to be over R $ 165,000, a figure that could leave it at an advantage over the South Koreans Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento, even though both are equipped with a 270 hp V6 3.3 engine. Not to mention the Chevrolet Equinox 1.5 turbo.
